What problem do I solve?

In Turkish agriculture, fertilizer spending is often shaped by seller recommendation or a neighbour’s practice rather than a soil test. This leads to two outcomes: operations that over-fertilize face rising costs, salinity risk and eutrophication; those that under-fertilize hit a yield ceiling they cannot explain.

My aim is to build a plant nutrition programme grounded in analysis, adapted to each growth stage and compatible with the irrigation system — giving control over both cost and yield.

Scope of the service

  • Soil test report interpretation: pH, EC, organic matter, macro and micro nutrient balance
  • Leaf tissue analysis interpretation and comparison with the soil test
  • NPK + micronutrient programme by crop and growth stage
  • Fertigation solution, EC targets and drainage management
  • Fertilizer source selection (water-soluble, granular, organic, foliar) and application calendar
  • Audit of an existing programme: excess, deficiency and seasonal mismatches
  • Monitoring and programme updates through the season

How does the process work?

  1. Current soil test report and any available leaf analysis are shared
  2. Field or greenhouse conditions, crop and yield target are discussed
  3. Analysis evaluation and a written programme are delivered
  4. For fertigation operations, an EC-pH monitoring routine is set up
  5. Programme is updated at critical growth stages (transplant, vegetative, flower, fruit)

Who is it for?

Growers who have tested their soil but cannot read the report; operations with high fertilizer bills but no clear explanation; those setting up from scratch who want the right programme from the start; greenhouses with a fertigation system but no systematic approach to solution management.

Frequently asked questions

I can get a soil test done myself — what does consultancy add?

A soil test report gives raw numbers; it does not make decisions. Interpreting the interactions between pH, EC, organic matter and macro and micro nutrient levels — and matching those to the crop's changing needs through each growth stage — is the substance of the consultancy. A misread result can cost more than not testing at all.

Which crops do you prepare fertilization programmes for?

I work with berries (raspberry, blackberry, strawberry), protected vegetables (tomato, pepper, cucumber), vine, olive and industrial hemp. Programme structure varies with the crop, growth stage and irrigation system.

I have a fertigation system — can you help with nutrient solution and EC management?

Yes. We set up the EC-pH values of the applied solution, the characteristics of the drain water, and the nutrient ratios that change with each growth stage. A measurement and recording routine is a critical part of this service.

When should leaf tissue analysis be taken, and what does it show?

Leaf analysis gives the most accurate result when taken from leaves of a specific age during active growth. It reveals uptake barriers, antagonisms and hidden deficiencies that a soil test cannot show; interpreted alongside the soil test, it completes the picture.

Do you build programmes from scratch or review an existing one?

Both. For a new setup I build the programme from analysis data; if a programme already exists I audit it to identify excess, deficiency and seasonal mismatches, then correct them.
